If your appliance fails to operate properly while in use under normal household conditions within the warranty period, return the complete appliance and accessories, freight prepaid. The pad is constructed to attach to the bottom of the handheld steam scrubber by "Hook and Loop" attachments. It is flat and is made of an all-purpose microfiber terry material. The bonnet is constructed to attach to the bottom of the handheld steam scrubber similar to a shower cap. It has an elastic edge that "hugs" the bottom of the steam scrubber. It is made of a heavy duty, large shag textile.
Tap water is ok to use in the handheld steam scrubber. Distilled water is better for the longest boiler life. *However, if you live in an area with hard water we recommend using distilled water to prolong the life of your product.*
Distilled water is best. We have learned that distilled water is empty of all minerals and undergoes a multi-step process to be classified as distilled. However, filtered water is indeed better than unfiltered for the boiler life.
Only water should be added to the handheld steam scrubber. No other substances should be added to the water for various reasons. Additives will build up on the boiler decreasing the life of the handheld steam scrubber. Most of the additive will be distilled out of the water. The remaining additive could end up in the steam vapor and, depending upon the additive, be dangerous to inhale while using the handheld steam scrubber. For these reasons, do not add anything but water to the handheld steam scrubber. As a free gift, we are sending you the Shark Fresh Breeze Mister that is used to apply a subtle Fresh Breeze scent to the back of your cleaning pads before you steam mop. This will release a beautiful, soft fragrance in the air. It is designed to be applied to the back of the pad that does not contact the floor or countertop. Even this fragrance should never be added into the water tank of your handheld steam scrubber.
It is safe and the product is designed to refill the water tank anytime when the water runs out. We do recommend that you unplug the unit from a power circuit prior to refilling. When you fill the water tank completely, simply plug the unit back in, wait 30 seconds for the water to heat, and start pumping the handle to deliver super-heated, powerful steam.

-The all-purpose microfiber pad is best for general countertop cleaning and sanitization. -The heavy duty shag bonnet is great on textured surfaces, larger cleaning areas, and some tougher cleaning challenges. Just as the all-purpose pad, it is safe to use on all sealed hard surfaces and for general sanitization of any hard surface.
Note that we do not suggest use of this product on unsealed surfaces, such as unfinished hardwood, unglazed ceramic tiles, or unsealed stone. The Handheld steam scrubber is engineered for premium performance exclusively on hard surfaces, and is not intended for area rugs, painted surfaces, or carpets. It can be used on all sealed hard surfaces - including sealed hardwood, linoleum, ceramic tile, or marble and other stone floors. Note that we do not suggest use of this product on unsealed surfaces, such as unfinished hardwood, unglazed ceramic tiles, painted walls, painted baseboards or cabinetry, wood furniture, or unsealed stone surfaces.
Your handheld steam scrubber is designed to clean surfaces that will withstand high heat and moisture; this includes Lacquer and polyurethane coatings. - Lacquer and polyurethane coatings provide a hard durable protective finish that withstands moisture. - The sheen may be removed by the heat, steam, and friction of the cleaning tools. - Do not use on unsealed wood surfaces especially wood antique furniture, unglazed ceramic tile, painted surfaces or surfaces that have been treated with wax, oils, varnished, or shellac. - It is always recommended to test an isolated area of the surface to be cleaned before proceeding, as well as check the use and care instructions from the surface manufacturer. Cleaning Tip: When cleaning, use broad, continuous cleaning strokes. To prevent surface damage, avoid focusing steam or allowing the cleaning tools to sit in one spot for any amount of time.
