There are two ways to clean with the accessories. Either separate the handheld portion from the rest of the vacuum by pressing the "Handvac Release" button or keep the wand connected to the handheld and remove the floor nozzle by pressing the "Wand Release" button. Choose the desired cleaning accessory and slide it onto the end of the handheld vacuum or the end of the wand. You will hear a click when it is appropriately attached.

1. Turn off the vacuum. 2. Remove the handheld vacuum from the wand and check all intake openings to the dust cup. 3. Remove the wand from the floor nozzle and check for blockages. If your unit is equipped with MultiFlex, check the clog access on the flex portion of the wand by pinching the tabs on either side of the hose and lifting the hose out. 4. Check the nozzle by using the edge of a coin to open the three locks on the bottom of the floor nozzle. Remove the cover, then tilt back the neck of the floor nozzle and check the opening for any blockages. Replace the cover, pressing down firmly on all sides before turning the locks clockwise to close.

Next, hold the dust cup over the trash and press empty dustcup slider down. Tap gently to empty contents and pull any debris off of the metal screen. Close the lid. You will hear it click into place. For optimal performance, the dust cup should be emptied each time you vacuum and when the dust cup appears full or debris reaches the "MAX FILL" line.

To clean the interior of the dust cup, rinse it with water only. Place it on its side to air-dry for at least 24 hours before reinstalling.

Check to see if the filters need to be cleaned if the vacuum is not picking up dirt, airflow is restricted, or if you notice lighter or no suction. You can tap loose dirt off filters between washes and wash them according to the regular cleaning schedule to maintain optimal performance. Refer to Instruction Booklet for more information.

Press the "Handvac Release" button at the top of the wand and pull the handheld vacuum off, separating it from the rest of the vacuum. Attach desired accessory and begin cleaning.

To turn the vacuum off, slide the power switch to the top notch that corresponds with the "0" icon.

Locate the button on the backside of the wand. For easier under furniture cleaning, use the button to bend the wand. Turn the power on and start vacuuming. For storage, turn the vacuum off and then use the button to gently fold the handheld vacuum forward toward the floor nozzle.  NOTE: Not all models are equipped with MultiFlex technology.

To clean filters, rinse them with water only to prevent damage from cleaning chemicals. Allow all filters to air dry completely for at least 24 hours before reinstalling to prevent liquid from being drawn into electric parts. Clean the pre-motor filters at lease once a month and the post-motor filter at lease once a year. More frequent cleaning may sometimes be necessary with heavy use.  Refer to your vacuum's instruction booklet to learn how to access the pre-motor and post-motor filters.

Your ION Power Pack should take approximately 3 hours to reach a full charge.

For optimal performance, clean filters on a regular basis. Between washings, your filter can be tapped clean to remove any excess dust and other particles.

You can charge your ION Power Pack by using a Shark ION Power Pack Charger. You can charge your battery by leaving it installed in the handvac or removing the battery. Please note that only Shark chargers should be used to charge an ION Power Pack. Consult your instruction book for approved models.

To insert, slide the ION Power Pack Battery into the slot on the back of the handheld vacuum. To remove, pinch the release tab and slide the ION Power Pack battery out of the handheld vacuum.

The lights on the ION Power Pack serve multiple purposes. One purpose is to show the remaining charge in your ION Power Pack while in use. The lights will also blink and illuminate to show the status of the ION Power Pack while charging. In addition, the lights will illuminate in certain configurations to inform you of any issues with the ION Power Pack.
